NAUGATUCK — The United Way of Naugatuck and Beacon Falls’ 7th annual Festival of Trees opened for the season Friday night at Ion Bank on Church Street.

A total of 111 Christmas trees of all shapes, sizes and décor were donated this year along with three decorated wreaths, United Way Executive Director Lisa Shappy said. Friday night featured a cocktail reception and 13 trees were auctioned off during a silent auction. The remaining trees and wreaths can be viewed at the bank, 87 Church St., during bank hours through Dec. 13. The Festival of Trees will also be open for public viewing during Naugatuck’s 10th annual Holiday Kickoff Monday night.

Visitors can buy raffle tickets for $1 each or 15 for $10 for a chance to win the tree or trees of their choice. Winners will be notified after the raffle is complete on Dec. 14. All the proceeds benefit the United Way.
