To the editor,

I’m writing with optimistic anticipation regarding the re-election of Deputy Mayor Laurie Taf Jackson, Naugatuck’s only female candidate running for burgess on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Over the past eight years, Laurie Taf Jackson has served our community as burgess, and two years ago was elected deputy mayor as a result of the voters.

Laurie continuously and tirelessly works for all Naugatuck residents and strives toward building a solid foundation for Naugatuck to grow and prosper. Laurie is always on-the-go; participating in Naugatuck events, supporting new and existing local businesses and serves on several boards within the borough. Laurie is also a 16-year veteran in our school district and was recently awarded volunteer of the year at Cross Street Intermediate School. This recognition shows that Laurie is instrumental in our children’s growth toward a successful future.

These are just a few of many reasons why I support Laurie Taf Jackson and her re-election as deputy mayor. Please join me on Nov. 5 and vote 6A to ensure a bright future for Naugatuck.
