letters_flatTo the editor,

Let me begin by saying I am both excited and humbled by the opportunity to serve as first selectman of Beacon Falls. For those who voted for me, your trust and confidence are appreciated greatly. For those who did not, I hope the actions of my administration over the next two years will earn your respect, as I set a path forward for every resident of our fine community.

I would be remiss if I did not thank the many members of our campaign staff without whose tireless efforts this result would simply not have been possible. The dozens of volunteers who believed in our message enough to devote so much time in so many ways, both large and small, was amazing to me.  Your energy and enthusiasm made the entire process easier and more enjoyable than I could have imagined.

Finally, without the support and understanding of my wife Rhonda and son Aleksander, I could never have spent the amount of time necessary meeting with so many citizens of Beacon Falls, while sacrificing our family time in the process. I can’t promise that situation will get any better now, but I know you’re both there for me regardless of what the future holds, and I couldn’t do this without you.

Christopher J. Bielik

Selectman, Beacon Falls
