To the editor,
Recently, I have had to change my route to downtown Naugatuck because of the construction work going on on Terrace Avenue, thus blocking the bottom of Millville Avenue.
So, I have begun using Hillside Avenue, and my SUV is screaming at me. The road is in deplorable shape. I dare not drive it above 5-10 MPH for fear of ruining my suspension system. While the bricks are certainly attractive and are a town landmark, the road is in serious need of repair. I also fear the same may happen to the Maple Street bridge, as it has already experienced problems.
I would appreciate the Naugatuck leaders take a hard look at repairing or replacing that stretch of road.
