Letter: Beacon Falls was prepared for emergency

To the editor,

Hats off to Beacon Falls for great emergency preparedness. Although it took several days for power companies to get us up and running again, town leaders were ready for action.

Three locations opened for warm overnight shelter. Three meals a day were available at the senior center. And hot showers at Woodland High drew residents from all over town. All locations were pet friendly so our “best friends” didn’t have to suffer cold any more than we did. The elderly who need attention were provided for and our pharmacy filled prescriptions. Neighbors helped each other clean up from storm damage.

These are the things that make Beacon Falls such a great place to live.
