To the editor,

I would like to send a thank you to all who assisted me with my Eagle Scout project for Troop 258 on Saturday, Non. 2.

My project consisted of working on the grounds at the Hotchkiss House in Prospect in support of the Prospect Historical Society. The Hotchkiss House was owned by the Hotchkiss family for over 160 years, housing three generations of the family before becoming the headquarters of the Prospect Historical Society. Through the assistance of fellow Scouts from Troop 258, Scouts from a Southington Boy Scout troop, high school friends from Woodland, along with friends and family we cleaned up the grounds around the house. We did leaf removal, cut down overhanging branches, trimmed shrubs, weeded the gardens and spread mulch. The project also consisted of cleaning out an overgrown flower bed and replanting fall bulbs. The Town of Prospect dropped crushed stone and we spread the stone in the back of the parking lot where the town will move large historical farming equipment to be on display for future patrons of the historical society to visit.

With extreme gratitude and appreciation, I would like to thank my friends and family, Troop 258, Chris Landscaping, Oliver’s Supermarket, The Prospect Historical Society, Carol Brooks, The Big Dipper and Mayor Robert Chatfiled for all of their support.
