To the editor,

Thanks to all who helped Light the Night for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. With gratitude and appreciation to friends, family, neighbors, and businesses — we couldn’t do it without them.

Thanks to Joe’s Refuse Removal LLC, Prospect Veterinary Hospital PC, Andy’s Oil Services Inc., Triple Stitch Sportswear, Arthritis Center of CT: Drs. Brian Peck and Richard Matza and the wonderful patients who supported our candy drive, Bella Luna Gifts in Morris, Rafs of Thomaston, Mary and Dennis Maurice, Kathy Wilson, Janice Ash, Liz Couture, Dorothy Roy, Patty and John DelBuono, Mary Rita Phelan, Jim and Rosanne Scampolino, Anna and Stuart Sardinskas, Judy and Mike Gallagher.

Together they have all helped to save lives by funding research. New drugs for leukemia and lymphoma are being used now for many other cancers with great success. The researchers are funded at Yale — right here in Connecticut. Lifesaving drugs and clinical trials are happening now. When we gathered together that night, we saw survivors, fighters and lives lost. Miss Connecticut spoke so eloquently to the crowd and then shared her story of survival, as she too was a patient nine years ago.

Grateful, thankful and appreciative of all of you. Thanks so very much.

Gary’s Gang of Elsies Angels have been walking since 2001; 18 years and most of you have helped all the way.
