Letter: The state needs someone that uses common sense

To the editor,

I read the letter to the editor from Mr. Ron Izumi, “Story on lawsuit against Trump was good for a laugh,” that was recently published in the Republican-American in response to the article, “How Trump lawsuit grew,” regarding Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., and other Democrats suing President Trump for supposedly violating the tenets of the emolument clause. I agree with Mr. Izumi 100 percent.

I would like to add a few things that I have been saying for a long time. I personally have had dealings with Blumenthal, which were a total waste of five months of my time.

The sad part about the lawsuit is that it seems that Sen. Christopher Murphy, D-Conn., has been letting Blumenthal use him as his understudy.

I use to be a registered Democrat until seven or eight years ago. After I took a look at what they had to offer, I registered as an Independent.

We need someone that uses common sense like U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty, D-5th District. She would be a great governor that can clean up the mess Gov. Dannel Malloy is leaving. Blumenthal should just retire. Where is former Sen. Joe Lieberman? Please help.
