In the blink of an eye, 28 years have passed since I was first elected to serve the people of Naugatuck as Town Clerk. As I now head to my retirement, I find it both gratifying and humbling to have spent a total of 40 years working as a borough employee.

Above all, I am grateful for the backing of my countless supporters, the loyal friends who, over the years, have continuously believed in me and my many endeavors.

Today, I am reaching out to my supporters one more time, to ask for their help in my latest endeavor. I am asking them to join me in supporting Michelle Dowling, in her bid to become the next Town Clerk of Naugatuck.

Michelle Dowling is currently serving the people of Naugatuck as the assistant town clerk.

Originally appointed in 1998, I have had the pleasure of working with Michelle, side-by-side, for the past 12 and half years. Like me, Michelle is grateful for her job, appreciative of all that the borough has offered to her over the years. She is dedicated to her work, and respectful towards the public, two qualities that are absolutely essential in the Town Clerk’s Office.

Qualified and experienced, Michelle is fully trained, capable and good at what she does. She knows how to manage a variety of permanent records, integrating them into any one of our several complex records management systems. She is also well-versed in the standard practices that are followed by all town clerks in the state of Connecticut. In 2006, Michelle became a Connecticut certified municipal clerk, completing all required course work and passing the state’s certification exam.

The main charge of every town clerk is to humbly serve the public. If elected, I know that Michelle Dowling will follow in my foot steps, serving as a hands-on town clerk, one who is involved in every aspect of the job. Michelle will be at the office every day, arriving early, leaving late. Her work ethic has always been exemplary.

I am proud to support the candidacy of Michelle Dowling for Town Clerk. I encourage the voters of Naugatuck to join me in voting for Michelle on May 2. You will not be disappointed by her performance.
