Letter: Time for a change

To the editor,

Our state and national government is out of touch and out of control.

We know that Linda McMahon has a common-sense plan to cut taxes on the middle class and small businesses, while putting the brakes on government spending and red tape.  It is certainly plausible to believe that our economy would be helped in meaningful ways if the provisions of her plan were to be put into place.

Chris Murphy’s record is one of making government bigger and raising taxes. He has no plan to do anything new or different. He is all about, been there, done that. So, it is also plausible to believe that the problems that currently plague us — too few jobs and too much debt — would be exacerbated if he is given free rein to double down as our senator. Murphy is too great a risk.

I don’t want to make a bad situation worse. I’m voting for McMahon. I am also supporting Lezlye Zupkus as my state representative in the 89th.  Taxpayers are suffering from the devastating impact of a record-setting tax increase at the state level. Lezlye Zupkus will provide a fresh voice of reason and common sense for Connecticut taxpayers.

Lezlye and Linda together can help put our state and country back on the right track for everyone. It is truly time for a change.
