To the editor,

Thank you to everyone for a great fall season. Rec soccer has wrapped up and travel soccer will be finishing in the coming days. PYS would like to thank all of our volunteer coaches, parents, and players for making this season a success. This season PYS is proud to have served over 380 players.

On Monday, Nov. 5 PYS will be holding its annual Coaches Dinner at Jesse Camille’s.  During this dinner, we will be voting in our new board. Nominations are as follows: President-Mike Sirowich; Vice President-Jeff Varesio; Treasurer-Jim Barbarito; Secretary-Lisa Sizer; Travel Coordinator-Dan Barrows; Rec Coordinator-Tony Messina and Aaron Semrow; Registrar-Dave Cambra; Merchandise Coordinator-Tracy Howson; Snack Shack Coordinator-Shannon Kotsaftis; Referee Coordinator-open; Equipment Coordinator-Don Mulligan; and Field Coordinator-Rob Phalen. Thank you to those who have accepted the nomination.

We do have one position, referee coordinator, open for nominations. Please contact me at lbing2@hotmail.com if you are interested in this position. Our current ref coordinator, Matt Powanda, is very willing to work with and train his replacement. Also, note that this is the one board position that receives a stipend. If we do not have a person in place for this position, we will have to use the help of CJSA for referee scheduling. This service would come at a considerable cost to the league, which would affect future registration fees.

Be sure to keep your player active during the offseason. Whether it’s through soccer clinics, another sport, or playing in the back yard, year round play is very important in an athlete’s development. If you’re looking for clinics near you, check out www.eversonsoccer.com for information. Everson Soccer Academy, whom we work with during the season, offers winter clinics that may be right for you.

Finally, be on the lookout for spring soccer registration. We hope to have it available very soon.  We wish you all very happy Thanksgiving.
