letters_flatTo the editor,

The residents of Regency were recently invited to a “special” meeting. On Monday an email was delivered to the residents of the Regency at Prospect. It was sent from the assistant property manager of REI Property Management and stated:

“Dear Residents:

Mayor Bob Chatfield and Diane Lauber, Tax Collector, will be giving a special budget presentation to the Regency at Prospect residents on Tuesday, June 4, at 7 p.m., at the Prospect Senior Center. They will go over the budget, page by page, and answer any questions from the residents.”

I guess the Mayor forgot he was also on the agenda to deliver his report to the Town Council at the same day and time.

Several public hearings have been held where the Regency residents could have attended along with the majority of town residents. Tom Galvin, chairman of the Town Council, has also sent out “informational” emails targeted only to the Regency residents.

Since when are private meetings held in public buildings after normal operating hours? Why the special treatment, Bob? When will my neighborhood residents get their special meeting?!
