To the editor,

I attended the special town meeting in Beacon Falls at the Beacon Falls Fire Department on June 14, it was in detail about the Beacon Falls Town Referendum vote that will take place on Thursday, June 21. This was my first time attending a town meeting, I just want to state that First Selectman Gerard Smith was very professional and organized at this meeting, and we are lucky to have him and the rest of the Board of Selectmen.

I do not care what your political party preference is I encourage everyone who is voting in Beacon Falls referendum vote on Thursday, June 21 at Laurel Ledge School to vote yes for all proposals on this referendum. If it does not go thru the cost will be a lot higher down the road and these items being proposed need much attention too, and benefit the town of Beacon Falls.

If you’re not sure about what you’re voting on, I suggest to  contact the Board of Selectmen with any questions you may have they seemed to be there for us we voted them in, so why not let them know about your questions and concerns on these proposals. I thought everyone who was part of this special town meeting to clarify each one of these proposals, were very clear, it helped me understand, and that is not an easy thing to do. I am like everyone else I see big budget numbers and you automatically want to say no too, especially during these hard economic times for all of us. However, these numbers will be getting bigger down the road if we keep kicking it down the road like a soda can. These proposals are much needed attention too and we need to nip it in the bud and get it taken care of now so I hope you will be joining me by voting yes to all on this referendum, on Thursday, June 21 at Laurel Ledge School it will be beneficial to you and to the town of Beacon Falls.
