Letter: Couple impressed with support of Nardello

To the editor,

For most of us, our homes are our biggest investment. And, my husband and I cannot forget what the impact could have been on our home value and our lives, if BNE Energy was allowed to construct two mammoth-sized wind turbines in the residential neighborhoods of our small town, Prospect. These proposed turbines would have stood approximately 100 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty.

When my husband and I, along with many concerned residents, pooled our energies together, under the name of Save Prospect, lead by Tim Reilly, we had no idea how aloof and insensitive the government machine we call the state of Connecticut would be towards our concerns.

Thank God we had Rep. Vickie Nardello, our state representative, who did care, and was sensitive to what that meant to Prospect homeowners. Vickie was never too busy to listen, and she was committed to do right for citizens, who saw their homes as their most valuable investment, and who didn’t want anything so intrusive to negatively impact their homes or their lives.

My husband and I were very impressed by Vickie’s tireless support and concern for us, the homeowners, and we are very appreciative for all her help.

On Nov. 6, we will be saying thank you to Vickie. She will have our votes.
