TOWN OF PROSPECT 36 Center Street Prospect, CT 06712 (203) 758-4461 SENIOR DIRECTOR JOB OPENING The Town of Prospect is hiring a full-time Senior Director to manage the Prospect Senior Center. The position is 40 hours per week and offers a comprehensive benefits package. The Senior Director is responsible for management of staff, volunteers and department operations ensuring the Town meets the needs of the senior population. Responsibilities: Provides assistance and referrals to seniors involving financial, emotional and social issues. Develops public relations materials including program brochures. Develops and manages the department budget and monitors and tracks all department expenditures. Provides monthly reports to the Commission on Aging regarding Senior Center operations Manages senior transportation and bus fleet ensuring proper vehicle maintenance and effective services are provided. Explores additional funding sources such as grants to fund senior programs. Develops new programming for seniors based on assessment of community needs. Coordinates with local, state and federal agencies to ensure that citizens are receiving available services and programs. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability and desire to work effectively with Prospect’s senior citizens. Excellent oral and written communication skills including ability to speak publicly to community groups and boards and commissions. Knowledge of computer technology. Required Qualifications: Three (3) to four (4) years of related experience, at least two in a supervisory capacity. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
