Which Airlines Still Allow ESA? - 2021 Guide

What if you could take your ESA with you on a plane? Many ESA Letter holders are even intrigued to know this. But, unfortunately, as of January 11th, airports are no longer required to accommodate travelers' needs. So what's next for those who need their pets by their side during air travel?

The answer is unclear as many airlines still allow passengers to bring comfort animals on board so long as they present a proper emotional support animal letter from a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist identifying that person has an appropriate disability-related reason why they require such animal accompaniment throughout the duration time.

Airlines that are Accepting Emotional Support Animal

Planes are no longer safe havens for emotional support animals, but some airlines still allow ESAs to fly. Check out this list of companies that will take your best friend with you on a flight.

International Airline

If you're taking a long flight, it's important to know what the airline policy is on emotional support animals. Here are some airlines and their particular policies:

Air France allows ESA for th flights to/from the United States. Asiana Airlines allow dogs only. China Airlines allow dogs up to 4 months only KLM allows dogs under 8 kgs only. Lufthansa Airline offers a variety of flights from and to the United States.  Singapore Air allows emotional support dogs on all journeys for those over 4 months old, including international trips!

Airlines of North America

A dedicated list of airlines that allow emotional support animals:

Latam Airlines Volaris Westjet

Airlines that do not accept ESA

Below is a list of airlines that does not accept emotional support animals on planes:

Airlines of North America Alaska Airlines Spirit Airlines

Allegiant Air American Airlines Air Canada Delta Air Lines Frontier Airlines Jet Blue Southwest Airlines Hawaiian Airlines United Airlines Sun Country International Airlines Air China Air New Zealand Cathay Pacific China Eastern Airlines Emirates Eva Air All Nippon Airways Qatar Airways China Southern Airlines Korean Air Turkish Airlines

Do airlines really charge more for larger-sized dogs because they produce more drool? Do smaller ones just need less food, so it doesn't matter about their saliva output?

Airlines no longer recognize ESAs and will treat your animal companion as a normal pet. However, pets are subject to fees and the airline’s restrictions regarding size, weight, breed. In addition, some animals may be completely prohibited from flights altogether! To avoid any trouble you should double-check with an agent before booking tickets for furry friends.

When you fly with your ESA, it is important to always call or check the airline's website for their policies. It can be as expensive as $175 each way! They are too large in many instances and not accepted on flights anymore unless they have all of the documents needed by airlines including a letter from a licensed mental health professional who has been treating that person within one year preceding their travel date.

Future Prediction Regarding ESA and Airlines

Airlines are now struggling with the recent new DOT rules that allow emotional support animals on planes. As a result, airlines have been forced to decide if they want a loyal customer base or an emotional support animal free environment, which has caused some airlines to end their programs and others to keep them running as before.

It is important that people need some form of emotional support to live a full and happy life. And while there are many things we can do for ourselves when it comes to providing this type of love and care- from exercise, relaxation techniques, or finding friends who understand us - sometimes the easiest way is with an ESA letter for housing animal.

The idea behind having your own ESAs (emotional support animals) lies in their ability to provide comfort as well as companionship without any physical interaction needed on our part; they also serve best if you have social anxiety disorders because, unlike humans, these pets don't judge what's going on inside your head!
