Pete Hatzidimitriou, owner of Beacon Falls Pizza Palace, prepares a pizza during the ‘tip a firefighter’ fund-raiser Oct. 19.  The event raised money for organizations supported by Beacon Hose Company No. 1, including Boy Scouts, the Senior Center, scholarship funds, and food banks. Hatzidimitriou prepared a special porketta dinner for the event, while firefighters waited tables for tips. ‘We’re hoping to bring people in to help (the Pizza Palace) and help us,’ said Ken George, special events chair for the fire company.
