The NVL tennis team tournaments kicked off Monday with the quarterfinal rounds.
The Naugatuck boys and girls earned first-round wins to advance to the semifinals, while the Woodland boys and girls fell in the quarterfinals.
The No. 3-seeded Naugatuck boys defeated No. 6 Woodland, 7-2, on Monday. The Greyhounds will travel to Torrington on Wednesday to face the No. 2-seeded Raiders in the semifinals.
The No. 2 seeded Naugatuck girls beat No. 7 Wolcott, 5-2, on Tuesday. Naugatuck will host No. 3 St. Paul in the semifinals on Wednesday.
The No. 4 Woodland girls fell to No. 5 Sacred Heart, 4-3, on Monday.
The finals for the boys and girls tournaments are scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday at Woodland.
The NVL girls individual tournament starts May 22 at Woodland. The boys individual tournament begins May 23 at Woodland.
