NVSL sits atop babe Ruth League

NAUGATUCK — At the halfway point of the Naugatuck Babe Ruth League season, Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan stood alone in first place with a 6-5-1 record.

Trailing NVSL in the standings are Sibby’s Automotive (6-5), Brown’s Roofing (4-7-1), B&G Sports (4-6) and the Naugatuck Elks (2-10-1).

Kickball tournament to benefit Grad Nite

NAUGATUCK — The annual Naugatuck Kickball Tournament is July 26 at Linden Park.

The tournament, which will follow the rules of competitive kickball, is tentatively scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Teams as well as individuals are invited to play. Individuals will be placed on a team.

NAUGATUCK —Naugatuck Youth Soccer will hold registration July 16 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Woodland Jr. Hawks hosting football camp

PROSPECT — The Woodland Jr. Hawks is hosting a Bags All-Star Football Camp July 19 and July 20.

Greyhounds hosting softball camp

NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck High School softball team is holding its annual softball camp July 14 to July 18 at Breen Field.

Still time to register for Pop Warner

NAUGTAUCK — Football and cheer sign-ups for Naugatuck Pop Warner are still being accepted.

Registration can be done at equipment handouts July 16 for Mitey Mites, July 17 for Jr. Pee Wee and Pee Wee and July 18 for Jr. Midget and unlimited. All three sessions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Naugatuck High School, 543 Rubber Ave.

Baseball camp for future Greyhounds

NAUGATUCK — The third annual Future Greyhounds Baseball Camp will be held from July 28 to Aug. 1.

The camp will take place at the Rotary Field Complex from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. It is open to boys and girls between the ages of 5 to 14 and costs $85 per child. The deadline to register is July 21.

Parks and Recreation to host volleyball camp

BEACON FALLS — The Parks and Recreation Commission is sponsoring a summer volleyball camp.

The campo, which is open to girls entering grades five through nine, will be Aug. 18 to Aug. 22 at Woodland Regional High School. The instructional camp features daily volleyball games and is designed to promote interest and skill development. The registration deadline is July 25.

Clinics open for competitive swimmers

BEACON FALLS — Registration is open for two evening swim clinics in August.

The clinics are for competitive swimmers entering grades nine through 12. The clinics will be at Woodland Regional High School, 135 Back Rimmon Road, the weeks of Aug. 11-15 and Aug. 18-22 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. They will focus on stroke technique, speed drills and conditioning.

The clinics are sponsored by the Woodland girls swim team booster club. All competitive swimmers are invited to attend. The proceeds from the clinics benefit the club.

The fee is $125 per week. A $25 discount will apply for two or more swimmers registered from the same family. The registration deadline is Aug. 4. For more information or to register, call Michelle at (203) 725-6775.
