The Prospect-Beacon Falls American Legion baseball program announced the addition of a Junior Legion baseball team for the upcoming season.
The Junior team, which will play 24 to 30 games in June and July, will be coached by Ken Graveline. Graveline grew up playing baseball for Prospect Little League, Woodland and the Naugatuck American Legion team and also pitched at the University of Rhode Island.
The program is actively recruiting players living in Prospect and Beacon Falls for the junior and senior programs and is holding registration Jan. 6 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Prospect firehouse, 26 New Haven Road. Players, ages 13 to high school seniors, are eligible to play American Legion baseball. A $75 deposit is asked as an initial payment for registration and commitment. Players are asked to have the following information to sign up: name, positions, date of birth, email address, phone number, playing experience, and the names, email, phone number and address of their parents.
