STAMFORD — Housatonic Valley defeated Simsbury 5-4 in the Senior Babe Ruth state tournament at Cubeta Stadium in Stamford.
Housatonic Valley is made up of players from Naugatuck, Seymour, and Shelton. Tyler Spinelli (2 hits, 2 RBI) drove in Frank Frosceno with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning in Housatonic Valley’s win over Simsbury. Dan McCue added a two-run single and Chad Cahoon a RBI-single. Housatonic Valley will play the winner of the Wesconn/Stamford game on Friday at 8 p.m. Housatonic Valley has won back-to-back state titles.
