PROSPECT — Robin Wright of Prospect is returning to the Region 16 Board of Education.

The Prospect Republican Town Committee named Wright to the board to fill the vacant seat of Prospect Republican David Wartko, who died unexpectedly on Jan. 10.

“She’s a great asset. She just needs to be brought up to speed,” Mayor Robert Chatfield said about Wright.

Prospect Town Council and Republican Town Committee Chair Tom Galvin felt Wright was a good choice for the school board. He said Wright had previously served eight years on the board, which makes her ready to step into the role.

Board of Education Chairman Priscilla Cretella is also happy to have Wright returning to the board.

“I’m very happy to welcome her back. She is a valuable member of the board,” Cretella said of Wright.

Cretella was on the board alongside Wright the first time Wright served on the board.

Wright could not be reached for comment as of this post.
