The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:

Elwood Van Valkenburgh Jr., 48, of 709 Maple Hill Road, Naugatuck, was charged May 22 with interfering with an officer.

Police reported on May 22 at approximately 4 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance between husband and wife. While the officers were on scene, police reported, Van Valkenburgh was uncooperative and walked away from the officers. Van Valkenburgh was given a court date of May 31 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Joseph Amaral, 18, of 4 Scott St., Naugatuck, was charged May 23 with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, sixth-degree larceny, first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, fifth-degree larceny, conspiracy at first-degree burglary, conspiracy at second-degree criminal mischief, conspiracy at fifth-degree larceny, second-degree criminal trespass, possession of burglar’s tools, conspiracy at second-degree criminal trespass and conspiracy at possession of burglar’s tools.

Police reported on May 23 at approximately 1:22 a.m. officers responded to a burglar alarm to a business located on Rubber Avenue. Police reported Amaral and Benjamin Day forced entry to the building and left prior to the officers’ arrival. The department’s canine was utilized, who tracked and found them hiding nearby, police reported. They stole money and merchandise, which was recovered, police reported. Amaral was given a court date of May 23 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on bond.

Police reported on May 23 at approximately 1:30 a.m. Amaral was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a burglary reported on April 28, 2017 at Peter J. Foley Little League Field. Police reported Amaral forced entry to the clubhouse and stole candy, Gatorade and alcohol beverages. Amaral was given a court date of May 23 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $5,000 surety bond.

Benjamin Day, 19, of 198 Spencer St., Naugatuck, was charged May 23 with conspiracy at first-degree burglary, conspiracy at second-degree criminal mischief, conspiracy at fifth-degree larceny, possession of burglar’s tools, conspiracy at second-degree criminal trespass, conspiracy at possession of burglar’s tools and fifth-degree larceny.

Police reported on May 23 at approximately 1:22 a.m. officers responded to a burglar alarm to a business located on Rubber Avenue. Carlos Filipe Pascoal, 33, of 24 Forest St., Torrington, was charged May 24 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on May 24 at approximately 11:58 a.m. Pascoal was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a violation of a protective order complaint made on May 9, 2017. Police reported Pascoal attempted to contact the victim by contacting one of her friends through a social media site. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined to be in violation of a no contact protective order. Pascoal was given a court date of May 25 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $200,000 surety bond.

Robert Pelkey, 30, of 111 High St., Naugatuck, was charged May 24 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 24 at approximately 6:29 p.m. Pelkey was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Pelkey was given a court date of June 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 surety bond.

Michael Hernandez, 27, of 72 Andrew Mountain Road, Naugatuck, was charged May 25 with risk of injury to child, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on May 25 at approximately 9:04 p.m. Hernandez was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for an assault of a juvenile reported on April 6, 2017. The assault was referred by a school guidance counselor. The juvenile disclosed to the guidance counselor that Hernandez had punched her causing bruising to the arm, police reported. Hernandez is known to the juvenile. Hernandez was given a court date of June 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 court-set surety bond.

Romaine Patterson, 21, of 116 Quinn St., Naugatuck, was charged May 25 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on May 25 at approximately 6:55 p.m. Patterson was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a disturbance reported on April 28, 2017. Police reported Patterson exposed his genitals to the victim and requested a sexual act be performed on him. The victim is known to Patterson. Patterson was given a court date of June 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 surety bond.

James Blalock, 28, of 45 Frederick St., Waterbury, was charged May 25 with second-degree failure to appear and failure to respond to payable violation.

Police reported on May 25 at approximately 3:19 p.m. Blalock turned himself in on active arrest warrants, one out of Stamford. Blalock was given a court date of June 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and a court date to of June 8 17 to appear at Stamford Superior Court and released on a court-set cash bond.

Tahimara Alvarez, 24, of 56 Warren St. 3rd, Meriden, was charged May 25 with interfering with an officer.

Police reported on May 25 at approximately 6:07 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Spring Street. During the investigation, police reported, Alvarez refused to provide her license and became uncooperative. There were children in vehicle without child restraint systems, police reported. Alvarez was given a court date of June 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.

Angel Mercado, 34, of 19 Diamond St., Naugatuck, was charged May 25 with possession of controlled substance: narcotics.

Police reported on May 25 at approximately 5:17 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Wood Street. During the investigation, police reported, Mercado was found to be in possession of an unlabeled pill bottle containing methadone. Mercado was given a court date of June 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 surety bond.

Chris Roche, 24, of 35 Giles St., Waterbury, was charged May 25 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on May 25 at approximately 7:08 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Roche violated a protective order by being in the home. The order was a no contact order between the victim and Roche. Roche was given a court date of May 26 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $15,000 surety bond.

Burr Brooks Jr., 62, of 187 Meriline Ave., Waterbury, was charged May 26 with two counts of violation of protective order.

Police reported on May 26 at approximately 1:08 p.m. Brooks was arrested on active arrest warrants. The warrants were for violations of a protective order reported on May 8, 2017 and May 20, 2017. Police reported Brooks contacted the victim through a friend, which was determined to be a violation of a protective order. Brooks was given a court date of May 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a surety bond.

John Fabrizi, 25, of 60 Delaware Drive, Stratford, was charged May 27 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on May 27 at approximately 11:39 a.m. Fabrizi turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a larceny reported on Dec. 4, 2016 at Stop and Shop. Police reported Fabrizi stole soda and red bull. Fabrizi was given a court date of June 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $100 cash bond.

Adam Ritter, 32, of 1081 New Haven Road, Naugatuck, was charged May 27 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on May 27 at approximately 3:42 p.m. an officer responded to a domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, Ritter punched a hole in a wall and swung a freezer door open, striking the victim. Ritter was given a court date of May 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Robert Harrold, 70, of 39 Horton Hill Road, Naugatuck, was charged May 27 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on May 27 at approximately 5:55 p.m. an officer investigated a domestic disturbance which occurred early in the day. The disturbance was between husband and wife. During an argument, police reported, Harrold grabbed the victim by her arm causing a scratch. Harrold was given a court date of May 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Derek Ostuni, 37, of 1277 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck, was charged May 28 with first-degree failure to appear and three counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 28 at approximately 7:55 p.m. officers responded to Rubber Avenue Ext. for a suspicious person complaint. During the investigation, police reported, Ostuni was located and identified. Police reported Ostuni was wanted on multiple arrest warrants. Ostuni was given a court date of May 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $2,500 surety bond.

Gregory Gaddy, 28, of 69 Idylwood Ave., Waterbury, was charged May 28 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 28 at approximately 9:53 p.m. Gaddy was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Gaddy was given a court date of June 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 cash bond.

Kevon Melville, 32, of 55 Lincolndale Drive, Waterbury, was charged May 28 with possession with intent to sell and possession controlled substance: narcotics/marijuana.

Police reported on May 28 at approximately 9:33 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Exit 26 of Route 8. During the investigation, police reported, Melville was found to be in possession of marijuana and cocaine. Melville was given a court date of June 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.
