The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:

JAMES KELLEY, 37, of 166 Willetts Ave., New London, was charged May 24 with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct.

KEVIN PEREZ, 19, of 156 Crest St., Waterbury, was charged May 26 with use of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance.

Police reported on May 26 at approximately 12:03 a.m. an officer responded to a suspicious motor vehicle complaint on Rubber Avenue. During the investigation, police reported, Perez was found to be in possession of 0.69 ounces of marijuana and a metal grinder. Perez was given a court date of June 3 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.

NAGIBE HERNANDEZ, 37, of 22 South Circle, Naugatuck, was charged May 26 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 26 at approximately 8:24 p.m. Hernandez was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Hernandez was given a court date of June 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 court-set surety bond.

MICHELE MEALEY, 46, of 17 Salem St., Naugatuck, was charged May 28 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on May 28 at approximately 1:03 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on North Main Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Mealey was operating under the influence of alcohol. Mealey was given a court date of June 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

ANGEL L. FIGUEROA JR., 40, of 47 Orchard St., Naugatuck, was charged May 28 with three counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 28 at approximately 2:06 a.m. Figueroa was arrested on active arrest warrants out of Norwalk. Figueroa was given a court date of May 28 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a surety bond.

JOSE MALDONADO, 38, of 946 Woodtick Road, Waterbury, was charged May 29 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on May 29 at approximately 2:53 p.m. Maldonado was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a larceny complaint made on May 5, 2015 at Stop & Shop. Police reported Maldonado stole eight bottles of Tide valued at $161.57. Maldonado was given a court date of June 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

MARK ROBERSON, 23, of 37 Bristol Ave., Waterbury, was charged May 29 with driving under the influence, reckless driving: not greater than 85 MPH and engaging police in pursuit.

Police reported on May 29 at approximately 12:23 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation on New Haven Road. Police reported Roberson refused to stop and continued driving. Roberson was later involved in an accident on the mix master in Waterbury, police reported. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Roberson was operating under the influence of alcohol. Roberson was given a court date of June 4 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $10,000 non-surety bond.

CHRISTINA ELWELL, 32, of 7 Fox Meadow, Windsor, was charged May 30 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on May 30 at approximately 1:48 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Cedar Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Elwell was operating under the influence of alcohol. Elwell was given a court date of June 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

KYLE VAITUZIS, 25, of 20 Washington St., Naugatuck, was charged May 30 with third-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief, breach of peace and carrying of dangerous weapons.

Police reported on May 30 at approximately 7:37 p.m. an officer responded to an assault, which occurred at 20 Washington St. Vaituzis confronted the victim, who is known to him, and damaged the victim’s vehicle with a hammer, police reported. During an argument, police reported, Vaituzis punched the victim. Vaituzis was given a court of June 1 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $75,000 surety bond.

ANTHONY ALVARADO, 18, of 21 Olive St., Naugatuck, was charged May 30 with third-degree assault and breach of peace.

Police reported on May 30 officers responded to Salem Park for an assault. Alvarado and another suspect punched the victim who was with friends at the park, police reported. Alvarado was given a court date of June 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 surety bond.

MILES BRIHIM, 18, of 231 Meadow St., Naugatuck, was charged May 30 with third-degree assault and breach of peace.

Police reported on May 30 officers responded to Salem Park for an assault. Brihim and another suspect punched the victim who was with friends at the park, police reported. Brihim was given a court date of June 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 surety bond.

STEVE J. GREAVES, 52, of 69 Clark Road, Naugatuck, was charged May 30 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on May 30 at approximately 9:43 p.m. officers responded to Metro Mart for a suspicious motor vehicle. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Greaves was operating under the influence of alcohol. Greaves was given a court date of June 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

STEVEN FRIEDRICH, 55, of 732 New Haven Road, Naugatuck, was charged May 30 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on May 30 at approximately 11:23 p.m. officers responded to New Haven Road for a motor vehicle accident. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Friedrich was operating under the influence of alcohol. Friedrich was given a court date of June 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

FELIX VARGAS, 43, of 133 Lockhart Ave., Waterbury, was charged May 31 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on May 31 at approximately 3:09 a.m. officers responded to 933 Rubber Ave. 5H for a domestic disturbance between former boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, Vargas slapped the victim. Vargas was given a court date of June 2 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

SANDRA CANFIELD, 34, of 37 Ticonderoga Road, Torrington, was charged May 31 with conspiracy at sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy at illegal use of a credit card, conspiracy at third-degree identity theft and conspiracy at obtaining goods/services through use of credit card.

Police reported on May 31 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Canfield was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported Canfield fraudulently used the victim’s credit card to make purchases. Canfield was given a court date of June 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.
