Police-badgeThe Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:

JACQUELINE FONSECA-ASH, 27, of 12 Galpin St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 17 with possession of controlled substance: narcotics, possession of controlled substance: non-narcotics, non-student in possession of drugs near school, high school or day care and possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana.

Police reported on Jan. 17 at approximately 11:20 a.m. Fonseca-Ash turned herself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a narcotics investigation. Police reported Fonseca-Ash was found to be in possession of marijuana, Oxycodone and Suboxone. Fonseca-Ash was given a court date of Jan. 29 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

SOPHIA MORRISON, 44, of 112 Emerald St., Bridgeport, was charged with failure to appear in the second degree.

Police reported Morrison was arrested on an active arrest warrant, while at court. Morrison was given a court date to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held for arraignment.

JOSHUA BERMUDEZ, 20, of 2 Harvest Lane, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 17 with assault in the third degree and risk of injury to child.

Police reported on Jan. 17 at approximately 12:43 p.m. the school resource officer responded to a disturbance in the school. Police reported Bermudez pushed and slammed a juvenile victim to the floor. Bermudez was given a court date of Jan. 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

VIVIAN ANDRADE, 29, of 60 Blackman Road, Waterbury, was charged Jan. 18 with driving under the influence, failure to have lights lit and operation of motor vehicle when registration or license is refused, suspended or revoked.

Police reported on Jan. 18 at approximately 2:07 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Cherry Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Andrade was operating under the influence of alcohol. Andrade was given a court date of Jan. 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

GERARDO RUSSO, 28, of 21 Locust St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 18 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on Jan. 18 at approximately 2:17 a.m. an officer responded to the area of Route 68 for an evading motor vehicle accident. It was reported by a motorist that Russo struck a street sign and continued driving, police reported. The officer located the vehicle and the driver at his residence, police reported. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Russo was operating under the influence of alcohol. Russo was given a court date of Jan. 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

MELISSA SCHENKEL, 28, of 479a North Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 18 with assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Jan. 18 at approximately 3:14 p.m. officers responded to 177 Hillside Ave. for a domestic disturbance between estranged family members. During an argument Schenkel pushed and slapped another woman. She was given a court date of Jan. 21 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

SUSAN SNYDER, 61, of 177 Hillside Ave., Naugatuck, was charged charged Jan. 18 with assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Jan. 18 at approximately 3:14 p.m. officers responded to 177 Hillside Ave. for a domestic disturbance between estranged family members. During an argument, police reported, Snyder positioned herself between the door and another woman to prevent her from leaving. Synder also squirted a medicated pain cream onto the woman’s face, police reported. She was given a court date of Jan. 21 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

THOMAS KAVANAGH JR., 29, 151 Andrew Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 19 with driving under the influence, traveling unreasonable speed and stop sign violation.

Police reported on Jan. 19 at approximately 8:13 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Rubber Avenue. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Kavanagh was operating under the influence of alcohol. Kavanagh was given a court date of Jan. 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
