Naugatuck police blotter: threatening
The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:
NICHOLAS RIZZIO, 43, of 99 Lantern Park Drive, Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 25 with threatening in the second degree, disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call.
Police reported on Feb. 25 at approximately 8:56 p.m. officers responded to 99-5 Lantern Park Drive for a domestic disturbance. During an argument, police reported, Rizzio injured himself and grabbed the phone away from the victim when she attempted to call the police. Rizzio was given a court date of Feb. 26 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $15,000 surety bond.
DOUGLAS SIMMONS, 38, of 46 Lines Hill St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 25 with two counts of failure to appear in the second degree.
Police reported on Feb. 25 at approximately 5:14 p.m. Simmons was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Simmons was given a court date of Feb. 26 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a total court-set $25,000 surety bond.
KIMBERLY DUNN, 32, of 1105 North Main St., Waterbury, was charged Feb. 27 with larceny in the third degree.
Police reported on Feb. 27 at approximately 11:30 a.m. an officer responded to Walmart for a shoplifting complaint. Police reported Dunn stole a HP computer, 12 packs of Red Bull, Monster energy drinks and makeup, which had a total value of $2,462.13. Dunn was given a court date of Feb. 28 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $5,000 surety bond.
MACKEEM MACK, 22, of 2009 North Ave., Bridgeport, was charged Feb. 27 with violation of probation and failure to appear in the first degree.
Police reported on Feb. 27 at approximately 2:49 p.m. Mack was being held by probation officers on a two active arrest warrants. Mack was given a court date of Feb. 28 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a total court-set $40,000 surety bond.
JOSHUA SWENOR, 27, of 38 Young St., Waterbury, was charged Feb. 27 with failure to respond to infraction.
Police reported on Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. Swenor was arrested on General Polaski Way on an active arrest warrant. Swenor was given a court date of March 13 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $75 cash bond.
CODY PLACE, 25, of 505 North Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 28 with failure to respond to payable violation.
Police reported on Feb. 28 at 1:08 p.m. Place turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. Place was given a court date of March 13 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $150 court-set cash bond.
ROBERT OLOFSON, 22, of 647 Field St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 28 with disorderly conduct, assault in the third degree, threatening and criminal mischief in the third degree.
Police reported on Feb. 28 at approximately 2:02 p.m. officers were dispatched to 647 Field St. for a domestic disturbance between mother and son. During an argument, police reported, Olofson pushed the victim into the couch. Olofson made statements that he would kill someone, police reported. Olofson also damaged a table and glass ornaments. Olofson left the residence prior to the officers’ arrival. State police arrived on scene to assist with the search using a canine. Police reported Olofson was located a short distance from the home. He was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation and he was held on a $25,000 surety bond. Court date will be determined when he is released from the hospital.
