Naugatuck police blotter: DUI
The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:
JOAO TEIXEIRA, 63, of 155 Edgewood Ave., Waterbury, was charged Feb. 14 with driving under the influence and violation in construction zone.
Police reported on Feb. 14 at approximately 10:38 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Cherry Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Teixeira was operating under the influence of alcohol. Teixeira was given a court date of Feb. 28 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
BRYAN A. PIHONAK, 19, of 170 Park Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 15 with driving under the influence, operation of motor vehicle when registration or license is refused, suspended or revoked, possession of controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and non-student in possession of drugs near school, high school or day care.
Police reported on Feb. 15 at approximately 8 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Salem Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Pihonak was operating under the influence of alcohol. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Pihonak was in possession of 1.21 ounces of marijuana, a metal grinder and an electronic scale. Pihonak was given a court date of Feb. 27 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a total $1,500 surety bond.
TRACI PEIL, 46, of 184 Cherry St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 16 with assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct.
Police reported on Feb. 16 at approximately 2:14 a.m. officers responded to 184 Cherry St. 2nd floor for a domestic disturbance between mother and son. During an argument, police reported, Peil pushed and hit the victim. Peil was given a court date of Feb. 19 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $2,500 surety bond.
NICHOLAS PEIL, 22, of 184 Cherry St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 16 with assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct.
Police reported on Feb. 16 at approximately 2:14 a.m. officers responded to 184 Cherry St. 2nd floor for a domestic disturbance between mother and son. During an argument, police reported, Peil pushed the victim. Peil was given a court date of Feb. 19 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,500 non-surety bond.
AISHA STEDFORD, 25, of 396 South Main St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 16 with reckless endangerment in the first degree, assault in the third degree and breach of peace.
Police reported on Feb. 16 at approximately 7:58 a.m. an officer responded to New Haven Road for a pedestrian versus vehicle collision. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined there was a domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend while driving. The victim exited the vehicle on New Haven Road. Stedford then struck the victim with the passenger side mirror as he was walking home, police reported. Stedford was given a court date of Feb. 19 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $25,000 non-surety bond.
VIENSAVANH INTHIRATH, 35, of 45 Woodward Ave., Norwalk, was charged Feb. 16 with failure to appear in the second degree.
Police reported on Feb. 16 at approximately 11:03 a.m. Inthirath turned herself in on an active arrest warrant. Inthirath was given a court date of Feb. 27 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court set $2,500 surety bond.
NINO BLACK, 45, of 105 Cold Spring Circle, Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 16 with two counts of fugitive from justice.
Police reported on Feb. 16 at 1:23 p.m. Black was held on two active felony warrants out of Nevada. Black was arrested on two counts of fugitive from justice warrants. Black was given a court date of Feb. 18 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $100,000 surety bond.
LOGAN LISIESKI, 26, of 19 North Circle, Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 17 with driving under the influence and failure to drive in proper lane.
Police reported on Feb. 17 at approximately 1:16 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on New Haven Road. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Lisieski was operating under the influence of alcohol. Lisieski was given a court date of Feb. 28 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
CARLOS AMARAL, 24, of 285 Quinn St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 17 with three counts of failure to appear in the second degree and failure to pay or plead.
Police reported on Feb. 17 at approximately 5:00 p.m. Amaral was arrested on four active arrest warrants. Amaral was given a court date of Feb. 19 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on bond.
MICHAEL VOSNEY, 25, of 74 Southview St., Waterbury, was charged Feb. 17 with disobeying officer signal motor vehicle, reckless driving, illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension, insurance coverage fails minimum requirements, improper use of marker, license or registration.
Police reported on Feb. 17 at approximately 5:09 p.m. an officer observed a tan Chevrolet Tahoe traveling south off the Route 8 Exit 28 ramp on the off-ramp with no front registration plate. The vehicle continued south on North Main Street and then reentered Route 8 south and began passing vehicles on the right shoulder at a high rate of speed, police reported. The displayed plate was found to not be the plate registered to the vehicle and as the officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, it continued on Route 8 towards the Exit 26 off-ramp, where the vehicle eventually stopped, police reported. Vosney was found to have a suspended driver’s license and the vehicle was found to be unregistered with no insurance.
LESLEY PELL, 24, of 224 Prospect St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 18 with disorderly conduct.
Police reported on Feb. 18 at approximately 1 a.m. officers responded to 224 Prospect St. for domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, Pell was yelling which disturbed the neighbors. Pell was given a court date of Feb. 19 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
