Naugatuck police blotter: violation of probation
The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:
JENNIE GONZALEZ, 49, of 30 Village Circle, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 11 with violation of probation.
Police reported on Jan. 11 at approximately 4 a.m. Gonzalez was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Gonzalez was given a court date of Jan. 21 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $5,000 surety bond.
JOSE NAVARRO, 28, of 108 Lorann Drive, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 11 with home invasion and assault in the second degree.
DEVIN JARVIS, 33, of 47 Deepwood Road, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 12 with driving under the influence and failure to drive in proper lane.
Police reported on Jan. 12 at approximately 3 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on North Church Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Jarvis was operating under the influence of alcohol. Jarvis was given a court date of Jan. 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
PHILLIP SIROIS, 22, of 53 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 12 with larceny in the sixth degree.
Police reported on Jan. 12 at approximately 3:03 p.m. an officer responded to Big Y for a shoplifting complaint. Police reported Sirois stole $81.64 worth of merchandise. Sirois was given a court date of Jan. 23 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
ROBERT CORTES, 27, of 289 High St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 12 with risk of injury to a child, disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree.
Police reported on Jan. 12 at approximately 5:03 p.m. officers responded to 289 High St. for a domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, Cortes slapped the victim in the face. The victim’s juvenile daughter witnessed the altercation, police reported. Cortes was given a court date of Jan. 14 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 surety bond.
KEVIN MAHER, 48, of 47 Christian Road, Oxford, was charged Jan. 12 with burglary in the first degree, criminal mischief in the third degree, interfering with an officer and criminal attempt at larceny in the sixth degree.
SAMUEL DUKES, 46, of 100 Lindley St., Bridgeport, was charged Jan. 13 with larceny in the sixth degree.
Police reported on Jan. 13 at approximately 10:41 a.m. an officer responded to Big Y for a shoplifting complaint. Dukes stole $47.38 worth of merchandise, police reported. Dukes was given a court date of Jan. 23 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 surety bond.
THOMAS RIVERS, 44, of 4 Belleview Terrace, Ansonia, was charged Jan. 13 with non-student in possession of drugs near a school, high school or day care, possession of controlled substance and non-student possession of drug paraphernalia near school.
Police reported on Jan. 13 at approximately 6:07 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Cross Street. During the investigation, police reported, Rivers was found to be in possession of 4.2 grams of cocaine and two glass pipes. The motor vehicle stop was within 1,500 feet of a school. Rivers was given a court date of Jan. 14 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $2,500 surety bond.
JAMES ELDRIDGE, 35, of 304 Donovan Road, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 13 with assault in the third and disorderly conduct.
Police reported on Jan. 13 at approximately 11:17 p.m. officers responded to 304 Donovan Road for a domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, Eldridge grabbed the victim by the hair and punched her. Eldridge was given a court date of Jan. 14 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $5,000 surety bond.
MAYSIO LONDON, 42, of 831 Woodtick Road, Waterbury, was charged Jan. 14 with driving under the influence, illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension, theft of motor vehicle plate and traveling unreasonably fast.
Police reported on Jan. 14 at approximately 1:13 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Oak Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined London was operating under the influence of alcohol. The registration plate that was on London’s vehicle was listed as stolen, police reported. London was given a court date of Jan. 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 surety bond.
JASON MELENDEZ, 37, of 69 Richard Terrace, Waterbury, was charged Jan. 14 with criminal impersonation and interfering with an officer.
Police reported Jan. 14 at approximately 1:13 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Oak Street. During the investigation, police reported, Melendez, the passenger, identified himself with a fraudulent name. Melendez was given a court date of Jan. 14 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $2,500 surety bond.
