Naugatuck police blotter: burglary

The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:

YEONJONG RYU, 35, of last known address, 41-26 Sanford St, New York City, N.Y., was charged Jan. 3 with burglary in the third degree and larceny in the first degree.

MUHAMMAD NOWAZ, 50, of 29 Pearl Road, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 3 with sexual assault in spousal cohap relationship: intercourse, unlawful restraint in the first degree and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Jan. 3 at approximately 9:37 a.m. an officer met the victim of a sex assault in the lobby of the Naugatuck Police Department. Police reported on Jan. 3 Nowaz held the victim down and sexually assaulted the victim, a former girlfriend, in the Nowaz’s home. Nowaz was given a court date of Jan. 4 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $25,000 surety bond.

RICARDO SANTOS, 19, of 138 Charles St., Waterbury, was charged Jan. 3 with failure to appear in the second degree.

Police reported on Jan. 3 at approximately 2:02 p.m. an officer responded to 172 Meadow St. for a motor vehicle accident. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Santos was wanted on an active arrest warrant. Santos was given a court date of Jan. 4 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court set $10,000 surety bond.
