Naugatuck police blotter: unlawful restraint
The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:
TERRANCE GATISON, 28, of 173 Maple St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 27 with risk of injury, unlawful restraint in the second degree, and disorderly conduct.
Police reported on Aug. 27 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a sex assault. Police reported Gatison pushed a juvenile female onto a bed and tried forcibly to kiss her. Gatison was given a court date of Sept. 12 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 surety bond.
LAWRENCE BEAUSOLEIL, 49, of 203 Cook Road, Prospect, was charged Sept. 5 with home improvement: false statement/misrepresentation/fraud.
Police reported on Sept. 5 at approximately 6:07 p.m. Beausoleil was arrested at 203 Cook Road on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for home improvement/contractor violations. Police reported Beausoleil started renovations on the victim’s home but did not finish. The victim had to continue renovations with a different contractor causing further financial burden, police reported. Beausoleil was given a court date of Sept. 19 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $25,000 surety bond.
PHILLIP HASSAN, 29, of 176 Boyden St., Waterbury, was charged Sept. 5 with larceny in the sixth degree.
Police reported on Sept. 5 at approximately 3:04 p.m. an officer responded to Walmart for a shoplifting complaint. Hassan stole a pair of sneakers, a puzzle and hair care products worth $49.53, police reported. Hassan was given a court date of Sept. 19 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 surety bond.
SHANE CROSSLAND, 39, of 58 City Hill St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 5 with criminal attempt of larceny in the sixth degree and criminal mischief in the first degree.
Police reported on Sept. 5 at approximately 3:26 p.m. an officer responded to the parking lot of Planet Fitness for a larceny complaint. Crossland broke out the passenger side window to the victim’s vehicle and took the victim’s wallet, police reported. The victim confronted Crossland, who then threw the victim’s wallet to her and then drove away, police reported. Crossland was located a few hours later walking in the area of Bridge Street. He was given a court date of Sept. 19 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.
CARLOS DESOUSA, 30, of 41 Cliff St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 5 with failure to appear in the second degree.
Police reported on Sept. 5 at approximately 7:18 p.m. Desousa was arrested at 41 Cliff St. on an active arrest warrant. Desousa was given a court date of Sept. 6 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $5,000 surety bond.
DREW LAROWE, 22, of 479 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 5 with violation of probation.
Police reported on Sept. 5 at approximately 7:41 p.m. Larowe was arrested at 479 Spring St. on an active arrest warrant. Larowe was given a court date of Sept. 6 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $10,000 surety bond
HOWARD ODELL, 23, of 34 Gruber Road, Beacon Falls, was charged Sept. 6 with larceny in the sixth degree.
Police reported on Sept. 6 at approximately 4:01 a.m. Odell was arrested at 34 Gruber Road, Beacon Falls, on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a shoplifting complaint made on Aug. 5, 2012 at Walmart. Odell stole clothing valued at $4.21, police reported. When the loss prevention specialist approached the accused on Aug. 5, 2012, Odell drove away in a Honda Accord. Odell was given a court date of Sept. 19 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released $1,500 non-surety bond.
JOYCE LAMAS, 51, of 123 Morning Dove Road, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 6 with criminal violation of protective order and violation of conditions of release.
Police reported on Sept. 6 at approximately 2:19 a.m. officers responded to 64 Nancy Lane for a noise complaint. Upon the officer’s arrival he spoke to both parties who were in an argument. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Lamas violated a protective order stating Lamas stay away from the protected party’s home. Lamas was given a court date of Sept. 6 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.
At approximately 3:49 a.m. Sept. 6 an officer responded to the parking lot of Sullivan’s Cafe for a noise complaint. Upon the officer’s arrival he found Lamas arguing in a vehicle with the victim, police reported. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Lamas violated a protective order stating Lamas is to have no contact with the protected party. Lamas was given a court date of Sept. 6 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $50,000 surety bond.
