Naugatuck police blotter: burglary

The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:

JARED ZURAITIS, 21, of 20 Normandy Drive, Waterbury, was charged Aug. 28 with burglary in the third degree and larceny in the fourth degree.

Police reported on Aug. 28 at approximately 12:54 p.m. Zuraitis turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a burglary that occurred on July 9, 2012 on Oak Street. Police reported Zuraitis entered an acquaintance’s apartment and stole a Nintendo Wii and Wii accessories. Zuraitis was given a court date of Aug. 29 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $5,000 surety bond.

GREGORY PAPPAS, 55, of 671 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 28 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Aug. 28 at approximately 9:41 a.m. an officer responded to the Big Y parking lot for a suspicious person complaint. Police reported a witness stated as he walked by the Pappas’ vehicle he observed Pappas sitting in his vehicle masturbating. Pappas was given a court date of Sept. 5 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

JENNIFER JONES, 28, of 193 Meadow St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 28 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Aug. 28 at approximately 6:12 p.m. officers responded to 193 Meadow St. 2nd floor for a domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, the two parties pushed and shoved each other. Jones was given a court date of Aug. 29 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.

MICHAEL SEBASTIAN
, 40, of 17 King St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 28 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Aug. 28 at approximately 6:12 p.m. officers responded to 193 Meadow St. 2nd floor for a domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, the two parties pushed and shoved each other. Sebastian was given a court date of Aug. 29 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

CARL SCHIANO, 54, of 157 City Hill St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 29 with two counts of failure to appear in the second degree.

Police reported on Aug. 29 at approximately 8:38 p.m. Schiano was arrested at 157 City Hill St. on two active arrest warrants. Schiano was given a court date of Aug. 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a total court-set $5,000 surety bond.

VINCENT PORZIO, 47, of 1575 Thomaston Ave., Waterbury, was charged Aug. 29 with following with intent to harass and driving under the influence.

COLLEEN NOLAN, 38, of 131 Ward St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 29 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on Aug. 29 at approximately 11:11 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Old Firehouse Road. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Nolan was operating under the influence of alcohol. Nolan was given a court date of Sept. 13 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,500 non-surety bond.

MICHAEL CLIFFORD
, 32, of 33 Wilson St., Waterbury, was charged Aug. 29 with weapons in vehicles.

Police reported on Aug. 29 at approximately 11:11 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Old Firehouse Road. During the investigation, police reported, Clifford, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was determined to be in possession of an auto assisted knife. Clifford was given a court date of Sept. 12 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.
