Naugatuck police blotter: forgery
The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:
DAVID AREIZAGA, 34, of 191 Aetna St., Naugatuck, was charged July 26 with two counts of forgery in the first degree, larceny in the fifth degree, and larceny in the fourth degree.
Police reported on July 26 at 11:25 p.m. Areizaga was arrested at 191 Aetna St. apt. 4 on two active arrest warrants. One warrant was for a forgery complaint made on March 14, 2012. Areizaga stole a state income tax refund check from a neighbor and cashed for the amount of $700.90, police reported. The other warrant was for a forgery of a money order complaint made on March 14, 2012. Areizaga stole a money order from a neighbor and forged the victim’s name to cash it, police reported. The amount of the money order was not stated in the report. Areizaga was given a court date of July 27 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a total court-set $10,000.00 surety bond.
SADYA DELEON, 28, of 24 Goodyear Ave., Naugatuck, was charged July 26 with failure to respond to payable violation.
Police reported on July 26 at approximately 8:19 a.m. Deleon turned herself in on an active arrest warrant. Deleon was given a court date of Aug. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $412 cash bond.
JOHN HUMPHRIES, 55, of 66 Hill St., Naugatuck, was charged July 26 with disorderly conduct.
Police reported on July 26 at approximately 5:26 p.m. officers responded to 66 Hill St. for a domestic disturbance between husband and wife. During an argument, police reported, Humphries grabbed the victim by her wrists and slammed her into a wall. The victim had redness on her right wrist, police reported. Humphries was given a court date of July 27 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,500 non-surety bond.
FIDELE LEMBO, 76, of 42 Stonefield Drive, Waterbury, was charged July 26 with driving under the influence.
Police reported on July 26 at 10:07 p.m. an officer responded to the area of South Main Street for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. Lembo was located in the parking lot of Mobil Gas Station. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Lembo was operating under the influence of alcohol. Lembo was given a court date of Aug. 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
DARYL BILLUPS, 33, of 619 Soundview Ave., Bridgeport, was charged July 27 with strangulation in the second degree, assault in the third degree, disorderly conduct, threatening, and harassment in the second degree.
Police reported on July 27 at approximately 9:30 a.m. Billups was arrested on three active arrest warrants while he was attending court. One warrant was for a domestic disturbance reported on May 17, 2011 between former boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, Billups strangled the victim and caused cuts and bruises on her face. Another warrant was for a harassing phone call complaint reported on May 24, 2011. Billups contacted the victim by text and stated he was going to harm her, police reported. The last warrant was for a harassing phone call complaint reported on June 5, 2011. Billups continued to contact the victim by text and stating he was going to harm her, police reported. Billups was held for arraignment.
HENRY BROADNAX, 58, of 883 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck, was charged July 27 with criminal lockout.
Police reported on July 27 Broadnax was arrested at 883 Rubber Ave. unit 14 on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a land lord-tenant complaint made on April 13, 2012. The victim was in the process of moving out of state. During the time the victim was out of the state Broadnax removed her property from the apartment and rented it to a new tenant, police reported. Broadnax was given a court date of Aug. 8 to appear at Waterbury Family Court and released on a promise to appear.
JOHN G. PELCHUCK, 50, of 7 Margaret Circle, Naugatuck, was charged July 27 with breach of peace, carrying a pistol or revolver without a permit, and weapons in a vehicle.
Police reported on July 27 at approximately 1:21 p.m. officers responded to the area of Naugatuck Savings Bank, New Haven Road, for a report a male holding a rifle in the parking lot. Pelchuck left the area but was located at 7 Margaret Circle, police reported. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Pelchuck showed a shotgun to a friend that he was selling, in the parking lot of the bank. Pelchuck was found to have a .45 caliber handgun in his possession and did not have a permit to carry the handgun, police reported. Pelchuck was given a court date of Aug. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.
MICHAEL VIGNALI, 43, of 501 Wilson St., Waterbury, was charged July 27 with failure to appear in the second degree.
Police reported on July 27 at approximately 4:25 p.m. Vignali turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. Vignali was given a court date of Aug. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $235 cash bond.
TRAVIS LOSEY, 37, of 232 Scott St., Naugatuck, was charged July 27 with larceny in the sixth degree.
Police reported on July 27 at approximately 9:34 p.m. an officer responded to Peter J. Foley Little League for a larceny complaint. Losey was working in the kitchen area, using the register. During that time, police reported, Losey stole $64 from the register. Losey was given a court date of Aug. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.
CRISTIAN NUNEZ-ARIAS, 19, of 119 Walnut St., Naugatuck, was charged July 28 with failure to give proper signal and driving under the influence.
Police reported on July 28 at approximately 12:53 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Cross Street. During the investigation, police reported, Nunez-Arias was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol. Nunez-Arias was given a court date of Aug. 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
KATARINA HERNANDEZ, 21, of 37 Stonybrook Road, Naugatuck, was charged July 28 with failure to keep right, driving under the influence, and making an improper turn.
Police reported on July 28 at approximately 3:05 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Rubber Avenue. During the investigation, police reported, Hernandez was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol. Hernandez was given a court date of Aug. 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a bond. The bond amount was not stated in the report.
ROBERT BARNES, 23, of 3029 Matt Drive, Longview, was charged July 29 with criminal mischief in the first degree.
Police reported on July 29 at approximately 11:46 a.m. an officer observed Barnes driving on the baseball field on Cross Street, causing $1,500 worth of damage. The field had multiple tire marks across the length of the field, police reported. Barnes was given a court date of July 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $50,000 surety bond.
FRANKIE WINGATE, 29, of 49 Gorman St., Naugatuck, was charged July 29 with disorderly conduct.
Police reported on July 29 at approximately 5:27 p.m. officers responded to 49 Gorman St. for a domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, Wingate pushed and scratched the victim. Wingate was given a court date of July 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.
PRISCILLA FERNANDEZ, 27, of 49 Gorman St., Naugatuck, was charged July 29 with disorderly conduct.
Police reported on July 29 at approximately 5:27 p.m. officers responded to 49 Gorman St. for a domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, Fernandez scratched the victim. Fernandez was given a court date of July 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.
