Naugatuck police blotter: false statement
The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:
SHANE CROSSLAND, 39, of Naugatuck, was charged July 16 with hindering prosecution in the second degree, false statement in the second degree, and illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension.
Police reported on July 16 at approximately 4 p.m. Crossland was arrested on City Hill Street on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a stolen motor vehicle reported on July 6. Police reported Crossland took his mother’s vehicle without permission. Crossland gave a sworn statement saying he did not know where the vehicle was, police reported. The vehicle was located at Crossland’s friend’s house where he was said to have slept in it on more than one occasion, police reported. Crossland was given a court date of July 17 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $10,000 bond.
MONICA HARTIS, 25, of 18 Morning Mist Road, Naugatuck, was charged July 17 with failure to appear in the second degree.
Police reported on July 17 Hartis was arrested at 18 Morning Mist Road on an active arrest warrant. Hartis was given a court date of July 17 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court set $45,000 surety bond.
CHARLEAN ALLEN, 44, of 53 Hawkins St., Waterbury, was charged July 17 with failure to respond to infraction.
Police reported on July 17 Allen was arrested at 53 Hawkins St., Waterbury on an active arrest warrant. Allen was given a court date of July 18 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $165 cash bond.
ERIK GMITTER, 22, of 2 Quail Hollow Road, Beacon Falls, was charged July 17 with larceny in the sixth degree.
Police reported on July 17 at approximately 11:26 a.m. an officer responded to Walmart for a shoplifting complaint. Gmitter stole a Coleman Micro Stove Butane tank valued at $30.71, police reported. Gmitter was given a court date of July 25 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.
DANA FLEISCHER-SAMPSON, 39, of 36 Park Ave., Naugatuck, was charged July 17 with failure to respond to payable violation.
Police reported on July 17 at approximately 5:44 p.m. Fleischer-Sampson turned herself in on an active arrest warrant. Fleischer-Sampson was given a court date of July 25 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $305 court-set cash bond.
MIKE SOLOMON, 20, of 44 Lone Oak Ave., Waterbury, was charged July 17 with failure to appear in the second degree.
Police reported on July 17 at 8:20 p.m. Solomon turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. Solomon was given a court date of July 18 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $7,500 court-set surety bond.
TEODORO SALAZAR, 29, of 400 Scott St., Naugatuck, was charged July 18 with illegal sale of narcotics or certain hallucinogens and distribution of controlled substances with 1,500 feet of a school.

CLARITZA LAFONTAINE, 29, of 570 South Main St., Naugatuck, was charged July 18 with larceny in the sixth degree and risk of injury to a child.
Police reported on July 18 at approximately 1:32 p.m. an officer responded to Walmart for a shoplifting complaint. Lafontaine stole a hard drive for an XBox and an adapter from the electronics department valued at $200.29 with her juvenile daughter present, police reported. Lafontaine was given a court date of July 25 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court. and released on a $1,500 non-surety bond.
CHARLES THIEL, 21, of 290 High St., Naugatuck, was charged July 19 with assault in the third degree, risk of injury to a child, and breach of peace.
Police reported on July 19 an officer responded to High Street for two males fighting in the street. During an argument, police reported, Thiel pushed and punched a juvenile. Thiel was given a court date of July 25 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.
THOMAS BUONOCORE, 32, of 23 Union St., Naugatuck, was charged July 19 with failure to appear in the first degree.
Police reported on July 19 at approximately 7 a.m. Buonocore turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. Buonocore was given a court date of July 20 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $35,000 surety bond.
