Naugatuck police blotter: conspiracy at larceny
The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:
BLAIR DAWSON, 21, of 78 Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, was charged July 9 with conspiracy at larceny in the fifth degree.
Police reported on July 9 at approximately 5:05 p.m. Troop G was holding Dawson on an active warrant out of our town. Dawson was transported to the Naugatuck Police Department for processing. The warrant was for a shoplifting complaint made on June 11, 2012 at Walmart. Police reported Dawson with a female accomplice took merchandise from the electronics department valued at $619.16. When the female accomplice was stopped by Asset Protection Dawson drove away, police reported. He was given a court date of July 18 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $2,500 surety bond.
MELISSA RAMOS, 21, of 168 Maple St., Naugatuck, was charged July 9 with criminal violation of protective order.
Police reported on July 9 at approximately 4:41 p.m. an officer responded to Fairview Avenue for a report of a violation of a protective order. Ramos contacted the victim through text messaging, which was determined to be a violation of a protective order, police reported. Ramos was given a court date of July 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $5,000.00 surety bond.
SANDRA RENNIE, 49, of 149 Aetna St., Naugatuck, was charged July 9 with failure to appear in the second degree.
Police reported on July 9 at approximately 7:19 p.m. Rennie turned herself in on an active arrest warrant. Rennie was given a court date of July 18 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $195 cash bond.
STEVEN AMBROSE, 19, of 5 Bailey Road, Naugatuck, was charged July 9 with failure to appear in the second degree.
Police reported on July 9 at approximately 8:43 p.m. Ambrose was arrested at 5 Bailey Road on an active arrest warrant. Ambrose was given a court date of July 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $195 cash bond.
MEGHAN LACROIX, 31, of 24 Hickory Road, Naugatuck, was charged July 10 with illegal possession of narcotic and use of drug paraphernalia.
Police reported on July 10 at approximately 12:50 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Maple Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Lacroix was in possession of crack-cocaine, a smoking pipe, and filters. Lacroix was given a court date of July 18 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.
SHAWN PITTMAN, 43, of 349 North Main St., Naugatuck, was charged July 10 with assault in the third degree, strangulation in the third degree, and disorderly conduct.
Police reported on July 10 at approximately 10:11 a.m. Pittman was identified through a motor vehicle investigation on North Main Street. Pittman was wanted on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a domestic disturbance reported on March 25, 2012 on North Main Street between husband and wife. During an argument, police reported, Pittman grabbed the victim by her throat, threw her to the floor and hit her. The victim complained of pain on the left side of her face and behind her left ear, police reported. Pittman was given a court date of July 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $50,000 court set surety bond.
SHEILA SCHWARTZ, 50, of 93 School St. Ext., Naugatuck, was charged July 10 with failure to appear in the second degree.
Police reported on July 10 at approximately 10:58 a.m. Schwartz turned herself in on an active arrest warrant. Schwartz was given a court date of July 18 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $195 cash bond.
LESTER SMITH, 47, of 40 Carroll St., Naugatuck, was charged July 10 with harassment in the second degree, breach of the peace, and criminal trespass in the first degree.
Police reported on July 10 at approximately 3:32 p.m. an officer met with the victim in the lobby of the police department regarding a harassing phone call complaint. Smith contacted the victim several times via phone when he was advised not to, police reported. Smith was given a court date of July 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $1,000 surety bond. Smith was also arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for an incident reported on July 3, 2012. Smith walked onto the victim’s property, who is an acquaintance, and poured bleach on the victim’s vehicle, police reported. Smith was given a court date of July 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $1,500 surety bond.
ERIC PONGONIS, 38, of 1 Bradley Lane, Sandy Hook, was charged July 10 with breach of peace and interfering with an officer.
Police reported on July 10 at approximately 9:03 p.m. officers responded to Reynolds Cafe for a report of a male harassing the patrons. Pongonis entered the bar and began to argue and yell at the patrons, police reported. The male left the bar prior to the officers’ arrival and was located across the street from the bar, police reported. Pongonis was given a court date of July 18 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.
SARA OBRIEN, 29, of 151 Andrew Ave., Naugatuck, was charged July 11 with disorderly conduct and criminal violation of protective order.
Police reported on July 11 at approximately 12:36 a.m. officers responded to 151 Andrew Ave. apt 144 for a domestic dispute between former boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, Obrien slapped the victim in the face. Obrien was given a court date of July 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond. At approximately 3:37 a.m. officers responded to 151 Andrew Ave. apt 144 for a violation of a protective order. Obrien was arrested earlier in the night due to a domestic disturbance. Obrien was issued a no contact conditions of release, police reported. Obrien returned to the home after leaving the police department, which violated the release, police reported. Obrien was given a court date of July 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $50,000 surety bond.
