Naugatuck police blotter: disorderly conduct, assault
The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:
MARTIN RUGGIRI, 74, of 421 Andrew Ave., Naugatuck, was charged, May 27, with disorderly conduct.
According to police, on May 27 at approximately 3 p.m. Ruggiri turned himself in at the Naugatuck Police Department. The warrant was for a domestic disturbance, between uncle and niece that occurred on May 26 at approximately 8:04 am at 421 Andrew Ave., police said. During an argument, police said, Ruggiri punched and kicked the victim, and minor injuries were reported. Ruggiri was given a court date of May 31 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.
KENNETH GAGNON, 47, of 187 Morningside Drive, Bristol, was charged, May 27, with violation of probation.
According to police, on May 27 at approximately 7:41 p.m. officers responded to 480 Millville Ave. for an unwanted party. During the investigation, police said, it was determined Gagnon was wanted on an active arrest warrant. He was given a court date of May 31 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $1,000 court set surety bond.
DAVID AREIZAGA, 33, of 191 Aetna St., Naugatuck, was charged, May 27, with two counts of failure to appear in the second degree.
According to police, on May 27 at approximately 11:10 p.m. an officer observed Areizaga travel through the intersection of Hoadley Street and Rubber Avenue without stopping for a red light. During the motor vehicle investigation, police said, it was determined Areizaga was wanted on an active arrest warrant. He was given a court date of June 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a total $5,000 surety bond.
JOSHUA GEORGI, 26, of 157 Cherry St., Naugatuck, was charged, May 28, with breach of peace and assault in the third degree.
According to police, on May 28 at approximately 1:52 a.m. officers responded to 157 Cherry St. for a disturbance between roommates. During an argument, police said, the two roommates began to push and punch each other, and minor injuries were reported. Georgi was given a court date of May 31 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.
JASON WEYGANT, 32, of 157 Cherry St., Naugatuck, was charged, May 28, with breach of peace and assault in the third degree.
According to police, on May 28 at approximately 1:52 a.m. officers responded to 157 Cherry St. for a disturbance between roommates. During an argument, police said, the two roommates began to push and punch each other, and minor injuries were reported. Weygant was given a court date of May 31 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.
RONALD SMITH, 64, of 17 Roland St., Waterbury, was charged, May 29, with failure to respond to infraction.
According to police, on May 29 at approximately 5:16 a.m. officers responded to 39 Locust St. for a medical complaint. While the officers were on scene, police said, it was determined Smith was wanted on an active arrest warrant. Smith was given a court date of June 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $167 court set cash bond.
KYLE GONZALEZ, 19, of 163 Highland Ave., Naugatuck, was charged, May 31, with failure to appear in the second degree.
According to police, on May 31 at approximately 12:06 a.m. an officer observed Gonzalez walking in the roadway on Highland Avenue. During the investigation, police said, it was determined Gonzalez was wanted on an active arrest warrant. He was given a court date of June 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $25,000 surety bond.
