Naugatuck police blotter: possession of marijauna, larceny, strangulation
The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:
BRIAN MIELE, 42, of 7 Bradley St., Naugatuck, was charged with larceny in the sixth degree.
On March 29 at approximately 10:13 a.m. Miele was arrested at 7 Bradley St. on a valid arrest warrant. The warrant was for a larceny that took place on March 3 at Walmart on New Haven Road. Miele stole merchandise valued at $20. He was given a court date of April 6 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
AMANDA NUNES, 20, of 975 Grand St., Bridgeport, was charged with possession of marijuana.
On March 28 at approximately 11:36 p.m. Nunes was stopped for a motor vehicle violation, on Rubber Avenue. During the investigation she was found to be in possession of marijuana. She was given a court date of April 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on $500 non-surety bond.
JANELLE MAIA, 19, of 9 Thunderbird Drive, Naugatuck, was charged with failure to appear in the second degree.
On March 30 at approximately 6 a.m. Maia turned herself in on an active failure to appear warrant. She was given a court date of March 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $500 court set surety bond until her court appearance.
ROBERTO RODRIGUEZ JR., 37, of 312 Wolcott St., Waterbury, was charged with strangulation in the second degree, assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct.
On March 30 at approximately 11:23 p.m. Waterbury police located Rodriguez at 312 Wolcott St., Waterbury, who was wanted out of our town on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a domestic disturbance that occurred on March 23 at 17 Highland Circle. The victim stated she was arguing with Rodriguez, her boyfriend, and it escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation Rodriguez choked the victim. He was given a court date of March 31 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court set $50,000 surety bond.
