Naugatuck police blotter: DUI, possession of pot, larceny
The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:
JAMES LANGO, 48, of 1034 Andrew Mountain Road, Naugatuck, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to drive right and failure to carry certificate of registration/insurance.
On Feb. 26 at approximately 8:07 a.m. Lango turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a motor vehicle accident on Andrew Mountain Road that occurred on Aug. 7. Lango struck a utility pole and rolled his vehicle onto its side. He was given a court date of March 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
STEPHEN LEMBO, 33, of11 Driggs St., Waterbury, was charged with four counts of larceny in the sixth degree.
On Feb. 26 at approximately 5:18 p.m. the accused turned himself in on active arrest warrants. The warrant was for shoplifting complaints, at Walmart, that occurred last summer. Lembo stole merchandise from the electronics department. He was given a court date of March 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a total $4,000 non-surety bond.
REED STACHELEK, 31, of 38 Lewis Circle, Naugatuck, was charged with evading responsibility.
On Feb. 25 at approximately 8:10 p.m. Stachelek turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Feb. 5 at approximately 4:22 a.m. Stachelek struck his neighbors car and did not report the accident. The accused was given a court date of March 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,500 non-surety bond.
TYREASE GATISON, 23, of 933 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck, was charged with criminal violation of a protective order, assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct.
On Feb. 27 at approximately 10:54 a.m. Gatison turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a domestic disturbance that occurred on Feb. 10 at approximately at 933 Rubber Ave., 8P. The domestic disturbance began as an argument and then became physical. Gatison threw the victim against a wall and pushed her to the floor. Minor injuries were reported. The accused was given a court date of feb. 28 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $25,000 surety bond.
LOREEN HEAVANS, 39, of 24 Church St., Woodbury, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in proper lane.
On Feb. 25 at approximately 1:22 a.m. Heavans was traveling north on Church Street. She crossed the double yellow line and an officer stopped her. During the investigation it was determined that she was operating under the influence of drugs and or alcohol. She was given a court date of March 3 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
JEFFREY BARLYA, 34, of 63 Woodbridge Ave., Ansonia, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in proper lane.
On Feb. 25 at approximately 1:36 a.m. Barlay was traveling south on Route 8. He swerved across the lanes and an officer stopped the vehicle. During the investigation it was determined he was operating under the influence of drugs and or alcohol. He was given a court date of March 10 and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
RYAN HAVICAN, 35, of 16 Lewis Circle, Naugatuck, was charged with two counts of failure to appear in the second degree, criminal violation of a protective order and larceny in the third degree.
On Feb. 25 at approximately 9:23 a.m. Havican was arrested at 16 Lewis Circle on an active failure to appear warrant. The original arrest was for an incident that occurred in July. He took the victim’s vehicle without permission and stole $80 from her home. He was held on a $5,000 court set bond.
On Feb 25 at approximately 9:23 a.m. Havican was arrested at 16 Lewis Circle on an active failure to appear warrant. The original arrest was for a domestic disturbance with his mother that occurred on Aug. 4. He threw items at the victim and pushed her down. He was held on a $10,000 court set bond.
On Feb. 25 at approximately 9:23 a.m. while officers were serving an active arrest warrant on Havican, it was determined he was in the home in violation of a valid protective order. He was arrested and held on a $5,000 surety bond.
On Feb. 25 at approximately 9:23 a.m. Havican was arrested at 16 Lewis Circle on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for an incident that occurred on Jan. 20 at 933 Rubber Ave., 10A. He stole the victim’s vehicle, which was recovered in Waterbury on Jan. 22. He was taken into custody and held on a $2,500 surety bond.
REINALDO ORTIZ-VAZQUEZ, 27, of 824 Boyden St., Waterbury, was charged with failure to appear in the second degree.
On Feb. 25 at approximately 12:51 p.m. Ortiz-Vazquez turned himself in on an active failure to appear warrant. He was given a court date of March 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,500 surety bond.
STEVE LISTER, 38, of 143 Manners Ave., Naugatuck, was charged with driving under the influence, evading responsibility and failure to drive in proper lane.
On Feb. 26 at approximately 2:34 a.m. an officer responded to an evading motor vehicle accident that occurred on Field Street. The victim was able to obtain Lister’s registration plate. Moderate damage was reported by victim. Lister was found in the parking lot of Sunoco on Rubber Avenue sleeping in his vehicle. He was given a court date of March 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
JANE BROCKETT, 23, of 71 Plaza Ave., Waterbury, was charged with failure to appear in the second degree.
On Feb. 26 at approximately 5:48 p.m. Brockett turned herself in on an active failure to appear warrant. The original charge was for motor vehicle violations. She was given a court date of March 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $495 court set cash bond.
VINCENT CLARK, 46, of 179 Ward St., Naugatuck, was charged with failure to appear in the second degree.
On Feb. 27 at 7:24 a.m. Clark was arrested on Church Street on an active failure to appear warrant. The warrant was for a domestic disturbance that occurred on Oct. 26 at 179 Ward St. He was arguing with the victim and threw a bowl at her. No injuries were reported. He was given a court date of Feb. 28 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $285 cash bond.
KYLE GONZALEZ, 18, of 163 Highland Ave., Naugatuck, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance and interfering with an officer.
On Feb. 28 at approximately 1:27 a.m. officers were conducting a seat belt checkpoint on the exit 26 off ramp to Route 8 south. Gonzalez was stopped due to his front passenger not wearing his seat belt. During the investigation it was determined he was operating under the influence of drugs and or alcohol and in possession of marijuana. During the arrest he was argumentative. He tensed up and tried to pull away from the officer when he was being handcuffed. He was given a court date of March 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court. He was released on a total $3,500 surety bond.
ELIJAH STANFORD, 19, of 193 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged with possession of marijuana.
On Feb. 28 at approximately 1:27 a.m. Stanford was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. During the investigation it was determined he was in possession of marijuana. He was given a court date of Feb. 28 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $2,500 surety bond.
DANIEL P. BAKER, 28, of 158 Hutchison St., Waterbury, was charged with failure to appear in the second degree.
On Feb. 28 at approximately 8:11 a.m. Baker turned himself in on active failure to appear warrant. The warrant was for motor vehicle violations that occurred on Nov. 15 on Spring Street. He was given a court date of Feb. 28 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $495 bond.
