BRISTOL — Francis B. Gagnon, Jr., 86, of Bristol, died on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at Ingraham Manor.

Francis was born in Hartford on Aug. 23, 1927 and was a son of the late Francis B. Gagnon, Sr., and Marie Claire (Carpentier) Gagnon. He was raised in Unionville where he graduated from Farmington High School then entered the United States Navy. He served in the Navy during World War II and Korea as a pilot mechanic. He also formerly lived in Wolcott where he served on the police department and volunteer fire department. He was a retired master electrician.

He leaves two sons, Christopher Gagnon and his wife Shan Shu, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Kenneth Gagnon and his fiancée Laura Brown, of Bristol; two daughters, Yvette Beausoleil of Naugatuck and Nanette Larrabee of Plantsville; a brother, Thomas Gagnon of Maine; two sisters, Yvonne Neubert of Roswell, Ga., and Marie Claire Mazzella of Mystic; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A military graveside service will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Cemetery, Avon. There are no calling hours.
