NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Norma J. (Chapman) Borusiewicz, 78, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 in the VITAS UNIT at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. She was the widow of Stanley W. Borusiewicz, Sr.

Mrs. Borusiewicz was born in Groveton, N.H., on June 7, 1935, the daughter of the late Leslie and Mary (Ball) Chapman. She worked for 33 years as a nurse’s aide, working at Pinecrest Nursing Home for four years and then working at Glendale Center for 28 years, where she retired from in 2004. She enjoyed traveling, doing yard work and word search puzzles and loved animals, having an extra special place in her heart for her dog, Susie.

Mrs. Borusiewicz is survived by three daughters, Brenda A. Borusiewicz of Naugatuck, Cheryle A. Weeden and her husband Bob of Brandon, Vt., and Leslie M. Mundo of Wolcott; a son, Stanley W. Borusiewicz, Jr. and his wife Tracy of Naugatuck; a sister, Wilma Nelson and her husband David of Milan, N.H.; a brother, Eugene Chapman, Sr. and his wife Ruby of North Haverhill, N.H., 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Debra D. Mancos; a son, Dean E. Borusiewicz; a brother, Ralph Chapman and his wife Pearl, and a brother Edward “Oscar” Chapman. She is also survived by her dear friend Chris Duffy of Naugatuck and her very special next door neighbors, Lou, June and Michelle Rivera whom she considered to be family.

A brief memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at 7 p.m. at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck at the convenience of the family. Calling hours for family, friends, and anyone whose life Norma has touched will be held at the funeral home on Saturday Jan. 11, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m.
