WATERBURY — Mrs. Fernande M. (Guerrette) Taraskewich, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 11, 2014 at her home. She was widow of Henry A. Taraskewich.
Mrs. Taraskewich was born in Saint Agatha, Maine, on April 19, 1923, daughter of the late Donat and Jane Guerrette. She was a longtime resident of Waterbury, and she had retired from Timex Co. after many years of service. Fernande enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking.
She leaves her three sons, Mark Taraskewich, Paul Taraskewich and his wife Kim, and Richard Taraskewich, all of Waterbury; her four grandchildren, Tania, Erika, Audra and Maureen; and her three great-grandchildren, Alivia, Jade and Simone. Mrs. Taraskewich, who was from a family of 14 children, is also survived by her three brothers, Donald, Milton and Robert; her two sisters, Lorraine and Charlene; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at 9 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to the Basilica if the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St., Waterbury, for a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Platt Street, Watertown. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m.
