Obit-CandleNAUGATUCK — Wade E. Englund, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013. He was the husband of Judith (Booth) Englund.

Mr. Englund was born on April 18, 1941 in Torrington a son of the late Ernest Englund and Mildred (Klinkowski) Englund. He spent most of his career as a quality control engineer for the Hubble Space Telescope project at Perkin-Elmer. Throughout his life Wade was a committed volunteer serving his church, Zion Lutheran, the Naugatuck Safety Patrol, the Naugatuck Volunteer Ambulance Corps and many other organizations. He enjoyed spending much of his retirement time with friends and family in Westerly, R.I.

Besides his wife Judith, he is survived by two daughters, Darlene Picagli and her husband Tom, and Nancy Curtin and her husband Terry; one son, Wade S. Englund and his wife Jomarie; his sister, Marcia Dyne and her husband Jim. He will also be missed by his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck has been entrusted with the arrangements.
