NAUGATUCK — Patricia “Pat” Meehan, 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS Unit.
Patricia was born in Bridgeport, on March 20, 1948, daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Hanley) Meehan. She was a longtime resident of Naugatuck, and she was the director of St. Vincent Child Care Center for 30 years. She was a devout Catholic and active member of St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck, where she was a Eucharistic minister, and she often volunteered at many church activities and events. Pat enjoyed her family, sewing and browsing at tag sales. She was also extremely proud of her Irish heritage.
She is survived by her daughter, Megan Meehan of Naugatuck; her brothers, Dan Meehan of Raymond, N.H., and David Meehan of Tampa, Fla.; her sisters, Barbara Hughes of Rindge, N.H., and Lori Delmore of Westerly, R.I.; and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held on Monday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Patricia’s name can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
