Obit-CandleWATERBURY — Mr. Jonathan William Curtis, 70, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at the Paradigm Health Care Center of Waterbury.

Mr. Curtis was born in Waterbury on March 15, 1943 a son of the late Lewis W. and Edith K. (Sorensen) Curtis. He was retired from S.N.E.T. where he had worked doing building maintenance for many years and was a member of the Prospect Congregational Church. He was a United States Navy veteran having served in submarine service and also aboard the USS Norfolk during the Vietnam War era. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 8075 in Prospect and a life member of the Curtis Society.

Mr. Curtis is survived by a sister, Nancy Jane (Curtis) Drouin of Whetstone, Ariz.; two brothers, David Lewis Curtis of Waterbury and Robert Davey Curtis of Clinton and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Sorensen Curtis.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Prospect Congregational Church, Center Street, Prospect. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial with full Navy honors will be in Prospect Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect, is in charge of arrangements.
