CHESTER — Mr. Nazaire MarcAurele, also known as “Mac,” 91, of Chester, formerly of Prospect and Vermont, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 15, 2013 at Middlesex Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Aldea (Rehel) MarcAurele.

Mr. MarcAurele was born in Canada on Nov. 10, 1921 a son of the late Pierre and Berthe (LaFontaine) MarcAurele. He was a World War II veteran having served in the Canadian Army. He was retired from Lombard Trucking where he worked as a truck driver for many years and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed working around his yard and fishing and was a gifted woodworker and fiddle player.

Mr. MarcAurele is survived by a son, Andre MarcAurele and daughter-in-law, Jeannette, with whom he lived; two daughters, Sue Fields and Lynn Taylor both of England; two grandchildren in the United States, Christopher MarcAurele and his wife Nicole of Prospect and Steven MarcAurele U.S.A.F. stationed in Nevada, several grandchildren in England, two step-grandchildren in the United States, Austin and Jennie; four great-grandchildren in the United States, Makayla, Madisyn, Josephine and Sage MarcAurele, several great-grandchildren in England and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was a predeceased by a son, Michael Rivard. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

Mac’s family would like to thank the entire staff of the Middlesex Hospital Hospice Unit for the wonderful care that they gave to Mac and the incredible support that they provided to his family.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 21, 2013 at 5 p.m. at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery in Waterbury at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday May 21, 2013 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
