NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Lillian Frances (Gecks) Richard, 87, of Naugatuck, passed away late Wednesday evening Feb. 6, 2013 at the Paradigm Health Care in Prospect. She was the wife of George I. Richardson.

Mrs. Richardson was born in Savannah, Ga., May 27, 1925, a daughter of the late Francis and Beulah (Milton) Gecks and had been a Naugatuck resident for the past 59 years, moving here from Waterbury. She was a former employee of U.S. Time and the Risdon Corp. before becoming a full time homemaker and mother. She enjoyed her association with the Thursday Nighters of St. Michaels Episcopal Church as well as the swim group at the YMCA. She also loved to socialize and remained true to her southern roots.

Besides her husband of 61 years, she leaves one daughter, Karen Richardson of Stafford Springs, and one son, Gary G. Richardson of Charlotte, Vt.; two granddaughters, Corey of Shelburne, Vt., and Brittney of Boston; a sister-in-law Roberta Lewis and her husband Roger of Shelburne, Vt., and several nieces and nephews, including John Taylor.

She was predeceased by a son, Stephen Richardson; sister, Evelyn and husband Jay Taylor

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m. to the time of the service.
