NAUGATUCK — Dorothy (Johnson) Crosswait, 98, of Naugatuck, peacefully passed away at Saint Mary’s Hospital on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013. She was the widow of Alan Crosswait, Sr.

Mrs. Crosswait was born in Letcher, S.D., on July 3, 1914, a daughter of the late Frank and Marjorie Johnson. She was Naugatuck resident for the past 39 years. She enjoyed the simple things in life, tending to her flower gardens and being outdoors. Her two greatest loves were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves her brother, Wilbur Johnson of Missouri; her daughter-in-law, Judith Crosswait of Naugatuck, with whom she made her home; her grandchildren, Kristin, Alan, and Scot Crosswait all of Naugatuck; her great-grandchildren, Colin Leary, Jacob, Zachary, Callie, and Halie Crosswait; her beloved friends, Linda Torre, Frank and Shirley SanAngelo, Lloyd and Judy Corbett.

She was predeceased by her son, Alan Crosswait; brother, Francis Johnson, and sister, Marjorie Dundas.

All services are private. Burial will be at the family’s convenience. At the family’s request, please perform a good deed in honor of Dorothy’s memory. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck has been entrusted with her arrangements.
