Eugene Joseph Kaminski

SEYMOUR — Eugene Joseph Kaminski, 75, of Seymour, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at Griffin Hospital. He was born in Bridgeport on July 9, 1937, the son of the late John and Wilma Merva Kaminski.

He was a devout communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd of Seymour. Eugene was a graduate of Fairfield Preparatory School, Class of 1955 and he then went on to graduate from the University of Detroit, Class of 1960 with a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering. Eugene worked for Textron Lycoming as an aeronautical engineer for 25 years before his retirement. He served in the United States Army Reserve during the Korean War. Eugene enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and handicapping horse races with his friends as well as helping them with their income tax returns and being their financial advisor. Eugene was an avid Boston Red Sox and N.Y. Giants fan.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Eugene’s family wishes to thank the following doctors for their exceptional care of Eugene: Dr. Terence Keith Trow, Dr. Arnold DoRosario, and Dr. Edward Kosinski.

His loving family includes his two caring sisters, Dolores Kaminski of Seymour with whom he resided, and Phyllis Coppolella and her husband Biagio of Beacon Falls; his beloved brother, Walter Kaminski of Wilmington, Mass.; five devoted nephews, James Kaminski of Albuquerque, N.M., Dr. Michael Kaminski of Dunbarton, N.H., John Kaminski of Sugarland, Texas, Mark Coppolella of Trumbull, and Daniel Coppolella of Bristol, and two cherished nieces, Lisa Kaminski of Wilmington, Mass., and Karen Winkler of Erie, Colo.; and several cousins.

He was predeceased by a beloved brother, Edward Kaminski.

A funeral service in celebration of Eugene’s life will be held on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at 9 a.m. in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St.,Route 67, (opposite Klarides Village) Seymour with a mass of Christian burial to follow at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour will follow. Friends and relatives may call on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
