BETHANY — John Petronchak, 82, of Bethany, beloved husband of Geraldine Brandon Petronchak, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at Griffin Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec. 2, 1929 in Derby to the late Theodore and Anna Demchak Petronchak.

John was a successful realtor prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Bethany Athletic Association and was a communicant of The Church of the Good Shepherd as well as a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd Men’s Club. He also sat on the Board of Finance for the town of Bethany. John was also an avid sports fan, he especially followed the N.Y. Yankees and N.Y. Giants.

In addition to his beloved wife Geraldine, survivors include his four loving children, James J. (Beth)Petronchak of Ansonia, Thomas M. ( Laura) Petronchak of Seymour, Sharon ( James) Montgomery of New Hampshire, and Sandra M. ( Andrew) Turmel of Oxford; five cherished grandchildren, Rebecca Petronchak, Dominic, Michael and Alexandra Petronchak and Andrew Turmel Jr., several nieces and nephews also survive.

John was predeceased by his brother Frank Petronchak.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 at 9 a.m. in the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (Route 67) Seymour (opposite Klarides Village), with a mass of Christian burial to follow at 10 a.m. at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment in the family plot will follow in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home.
