OXFORD — Claire M. Yetter, 82 of Oxford, beloved wife of the late Irvin H. Yetter, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at Shady Knoll Health Care Center, Seymour.

She was born May 11, 1930 in Le Havre, France, the daughter of the late Paul Idt and Henriette Marie Emilienne Piquet. Claire was a translator for NATO just after WWII, when she met her late husband Irvin in Paris, France. After marrying in France, they soon moved to Philadelphia. Claire resided in Philadelphia, Pa. for many years, she was an artist and her pieces were displayed at The Philadelphia Museum of Art. While residing in Philadelphia she also opened her own art Gallery Charvé on South Street. Claire later moved to Mexico where she resided for many years before coming to Oxford.

Her loving family includes two devoted sons, Steven A. Yetter and his wife Tomasa of Oxford, and Craig D. Yetter of Belgium; a caring sister Daniele Idt of France; and four cherished grandchildren Olivia, Scott, Céline and Kevin Yetter.

She was predeceased by a sister, Michele Herling.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at 9 a.m. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller-Ward Funeral Home 260 Bank St., Seymour.
