WATERBURY — Miss Nellie V. Horzepa, 88, of Oakridge Road, Waterbury, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Saint Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness.

Nellie was born in Waterbury on Dec. 14, 1923, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Perdal) Horzepa. A lifelong Waterbury resident, she was educated in local schools and a graduate of Wilby High School. She retired from Infodex where she worked as a general foreman for over 20 years and also worked at Benrus Watch Company. She enjoyed bowling and was an avid reader with a special interest in history. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.

She leaves her sister, Stephanie M. Horzepa of Waterbury, with whom she made her home; her brother, Joseph E. Horzepa and his wife Caroline of Watertown; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Anthony, Stanley, and Walter Horzepa; and her sister Julia Searfoss.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 100 East Farm St., Waterbury for a mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, East Main Street, Waterbury. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
